I'm having the same exact problem. I cancelled my service in March of this year and returned the only equipment that I had, to a "secure" dropbox, as WOW puts it, on the very same day.
The office is located just 5 minutes from my home. Of course, the office itself was closed, but the sign on the door says to put equipment in the drop box. After receiving several bills for the "unreturned" equipment and several phone calls later, I thought the issue had been resolved. Wrong!
I just received a collections notice for $216.00 for unreturned equipment. I am livid. I believe this is a scam from WOW. Since we don't have receipts, they are scamming people out of hundreds of dollars.
I've already sent an email to the CEO and I'm sending a letter to the corporate office today. Good luck.
I am planning on notifying the Better Business Bureau. They continued to deduct from my Bank until I stopped all automatic billing at the bank.
This is a company that must be avoided at all costs.
There service is poor and they try to get additional payments from customers after they stop the original service. Do not even consider doing business with this company.
